Belle of Georgia Peach Tree (Prunus persica ‘Belle of Georgia’)

The Belle of Georgia peach tree originated in Georgia in the 1870’s. It is an heirloom freestone variety that produces an abundance of medium sized fruit that is firm with a creamy yellow skin with a rosy, red blush. The flesh is firm, white and juicy. The perfect peach for fresh eating, canning, freezing and ice cream making!

Sun: Full sun minimum 6 hours per day

Soil: Well-drained, loamy, sandy soil

Water: Water weekly until established. Water established trees deeply as needed.

Prune: Prune annually during dormant season to maintain shape and remove dead wood.

Fertilize: Use a balanced fertilizer in early spring and again in late summer.

The Belle of Georgia peach tree is not only an exceptional fruit tree but also a fantastic ornamental tree with an abundance of pink flowers blooming in mid-spring. The fruit will be ready to harvest in late summer. Originating in Georgia in the 1870’s the Belle of Georgia is an heirloom variety that produces an abundance of medium sized fruit that is firm with a creamy yellow skin with a rosy, red blush. Plant in full sun in well-drained loamy or sandy soil. The Belle of Georgia peach is self-pollinating and is a heavy producer. You will get fruit with only one tree, but planting pollinating partners can increase the size of your crop. Average height 15′ and width 15′. Required Chill Hours: 800-850. USDA hardiness zones 5 – 8.
