The Sunred nectarine tree is a favorite of southern gardeners. It produces medium sized fiery red fruit with yellow, firm and sweet flesh. The nectarine is a semi-freestone variety. Perfect for eating fresh or with ice cream or yogurt, making jams and preserves, or baking cobblers and pies.

Sunlight: Full Sun

Soil: Well-drained, loamy soil with a pH 6.0 to 7.0.

Water: Water weekly until established. Water established trees deeply as needed. You may need to water more often in times of extreme heat or drought.

Fertilize: Fertilize in early spring and fall.

This variety does very well in warm winter climates. You will be harvesting delicious nectarines in May and June. Perfect for eating fresh or with ice cream or yogurt, making jams and preserves, or baking cobblers and pies.

Plant in full sun and well-drained sandy soil. The Sunred is a self-pollinating, but planting pollinating partners can increase the size of your crops. Average height 15′ – 25′ and width 15′ – 25′. Required Chill Hours: 200-300. USDA Hardiness Zones 6 – 9
